BOARDING SCHOOL|?|?|?|?
I am almost defiantly going to Kilgraston boarding school for 4th year (i’m in 3rd year now) and i’ve read loads of stories about boarding school but i have no idea what’s going to be like bcoz everyone says it’s either a great experience and it’s great living with friends or they say it was horrible and they got bullied and it was the worse time of their lives, so what will it be like?
I have visited the school before and it looks really good and the girls look nice and it doesn’t look that strict, i’ve looked at what people wrote about it on bebo, face book, etc and they all said that they love Kilgraston, so i’m guessing that i will like it but i don’t know.
My uncle went to boarding school and he hated it so are the people who wrote that they hate it people that went their ages and ages ago and the people who wrote that they love it people who went there recently and boarding school is alot better than it was ages ago and i will like it?
So can someone tell me what boarding shool is like nowadays, preferable girls only bcoz Kilgraston is an all girls boarding school ( ;
And will there be bullies there? My family said that there won’t be bcoz this is like a really good expensive school and they wouldn’t allow trouble makers to stay, are my family right?
I’m sure it’ll be fine, you’re just getting worried for no reason, everything happens for a reason. at least now you will concentrate on your education rather than worrying about the minor things in life.
and the more expensive, the bigger the bitches, maybe that’s not the case for this particular school but I have 2 friends that are from wealthy families, one complains about the girls in her school "their too bitchy and are two-faced, they’re vain because they think they have money" ect ect, and the other loves her friends and loves the atmosphere and she’s always happy,
i think it all just depends on your perspective towards the school and what kind of person you are, but make sure you make good and true friends, don’t try and mix in the wrong crowd and ALWAYS remember to be yourself but make an effort too make friends with everyone and use some charm, remember to try and be yourself and be as friendly as possible, if you don’t then that’s when things start go terribly wrong.
best of luck!

What are the statistics of a High School student actually returning to school?
A lot of people have been telling me that if i wait a year before going to college after high school the chances of me actually going back to school are slim. I was wondering what the actual % is for high school students that do that and actually go back to school after taking the year off?
I haven’t seen any statistics on that. If you’re sure you want to go back, the best way to do it is to go through and apply to colleges, get accepted somewhere, and then defer admission for a year. That way it’s all set up for you, so it’s not a huge pain while you’re working or doing whatever in your year off. The longer you wait, the more work it is.
Tread thee Not – Prayer in Public School – Episode 1
First episode ! topic- Prayer in the Public School!
It is in the First Amendment the part they don’t read. They think the first admendment means they can say and do anything in a Public school,no matter how it harms, forces, insults children! They think the Mob rules! Look who dissented on this matter. The christians are trying to stack the court. It can happen if we allow it.Then your schools will be churchs and this Grand Republic will end! The christains will never share this nation or respect those who do not pray and bow to their madness!
II. THE SUPREME COURT’S DECISION:
The Supreme Court held that:
“The District’s policy permitting student-led, student-initiated prayer at football games violates the Establishment Clause.
The District argues unpersuasively that…the policy’s messages are private student speech, not public speech. The delivery of a message such as the invocation here–on school property, at school-sponsored events, over the school’s public address system, by a speaker representing the student body, under the supervision of school faculty, and pursuant to a school policy that explicitly and implicitly encourages public prayer–is not properly characterized as ‘private’ speech…
The Court rejects the District’s argument that its policy is distinguishable from…graduation prayer…because it does not coerce students to participate in religious observances… The second part of the District’s argument–that there is no coercion here because attendance at an extracurricular event, unlike a graduation ceremony, is voluntary–is unpersuasive. For some students, such as cheerleaders, members of the band, and the team members themselves, attendance at football games is mandated, sometimes for class credit. The District’s argument also minimizes the immense social pressure, or truly genuine desire, felt by many students to be involved in the extracurricular event that is American high school football. The Constitution demands that schools not force on students the difficult choice between whether to attend these games or to risk facing a personally offensive religious ritual…
Through its election scheme, the District has established a governmental mechanism that turns the school into a forum for religious debate and empowers the student body majority to subject students of minority views to constitutionally improper messages. The award of that power alone is not acceptable. For the foregoing reasons, the policy is invalid on its face.”
The United States Supreme Court affirmed the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit judgment.

Good Intentions 2of3 Minimum Wage, Licensing, and Labor Laws with Walter Williams
Walter Williams’ PBS documentary Good Intentions based on his book, The State Against Blacks (1982). The documentary was very controversial at the time it was released and led to many animosities and even threats of murder.
In Good Intentions, Dr. Williams examines the failure of the war on poverty and the devastating effect of well meaning government policies on blacks asserting that the state harms people in the U.S. more than it helps them. He shows how government anti-poverty programs have often locked people into poverty making the points that:
- being forced to attend 3rd rate public schools leave students unprepared for working life
- minimum wages prevent young people from obtaining jobs at an early age
- licensing and labor laws have had the effect of restricting entrance of blacks into the skilled trades and unions
- the welfare system creates perverse incentives for the poor to make bad choices they otherwise would not
Dr. Williams presents the following solutions to these problems:
Failing Public Schools – Give parents greater control over their children’s education by setting up a tuition tax credit or voucher system to broaden competition in turn revitalizing both public and non-public schools
Minimum Wages – Remove the minimum wage from youngsters to give more young people the chance to learn the world of work at an early age instead spending their free time idle an possibly falling into the habits of the street
Restrictive Labor Laws, Jobs Programs – Eliminate government roadblocks that prevent new entrepreneurs from starting their own business
Welfare Programs – Enact a compassionate welfare system such as a negative income tax which would remove dependency and dis-incentives for the poor to get themselves out of poverty
Scholars interviewed in the documentary include Donald Eberle, Charles Murray, and George Gilder.
