I don’t feel like being at home for my last school year. I want to go to boarding school but it is too expensive. Are there any alternatives?

If you are a very good student, you can do dual enrollment at the local college or even enroll a year early. There are several private colleges that will let you start early.

How do I convince my parents to let me go to boarding school?

I think you should show them that you are a responsible person who is just not running away from petty issues of school and family. And let me tell you my friend you can not fool your parents so genuinely act responsibly. If they can afford your boarding expenditures then only thing that would be bugging them would be you and your future. So I would say face it manly and if you just want to experience the boarding life then pave your way smoothly.

I’m looking for a fiction book about an all girls’ boarding school. I’m hoping the main character would have been in with a bad crowd, or something like that, to be the cause of being sent to boarding school. Something that’s maybe a horror or a thriller, or very dark, that has a lot of emotional points in the story. Like jealousy, friendships being broken, maybe death, etc. That’s just an example of the type of thing I’m searching for. Doesn’t nessacarily have to be narrowed down to this. Thanks.

A Royal Match. Very good book! Its not necessarily a thriller, horror, or dark book but it is about a good girl from L.A. who goes to boarding school in England with all of these bad girls…they sneak vodka into school in little shampoo bottles, sneak out late, hook up with guys all of the time etc…reminds me alot of Kate Middleton for some reason! I guess because the main girl falls in love with the heir to the British throne!

I’m thinking about going to boarding school for my sophomore year and I’m wondering if I would like it. I wanna go to boarding school because I think it be a great educational experience for me and I also think it would be good for me to be independent. The only thing I’m worried about is missing my family and home. Also any pros and cons you have about boarding school.

Btw I’m applying to Exeter, Andover, Choate, and Hotchkiss.

If you’re someone who get along with the majority of people, then you will LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE boarding school. However, if you’re someone, who doesn’t – and can’t stand certain types of people, then boarding school might be a little bit tricky for you. Wait no no, what am I saying, boarding school is a great experience, one of the main things I will always remember is how close everyone becomes with one another. You learn about there family about them, and some have a VERY interesting past.
Boarding school is great, kinda teaches you discipline, well mine did anyway, set routine, do this, do that, the one I went to was quite strict (we had to wear dresses for dinner) but that didn’t stop us from having fun.

One thing I actually hated about boarding school was waking up early in the morning for breakfast that was COMPULSORY to go too. -.- yea i know right. You miss your family at times, but you make friends who become so much like your family. I got homesick so badly on my first week, but I got through it, thankfully, the people in my dorm were very nice girls!

I think what is great about boarding school (for me anyway) was I got to discover myself, and my interest. You’re pretty much doing everything on your own, making decisions by yourself – without your family, so in that aspect, you do become independent, but it’s great knowing that you can rely on yourself and not other people.

Boarding school = great experience, but I couldn’t imagine going there for more than a year, just because mine was so strict. Though I made some life-long friends out of there

Good question, I brought up my good greats and how well I’m doing at home with out my parents even asking me to do it and then I asked if I could get my hair dyed, it worked!. So bring up something good you do. After you bring that up, bring how much you really want to go to boarding school. Tell them the pro’s of going, don’t bring up the con’s. I hope this helps.
