Elementary School Fire in New Orleans – May 28, 1985

A child spilled copying machine fluid on a heater and causes a massive fire that destroyed the school and spreads to a nearby structure. NOFD personnel worked quickly to prevent further extension of this conflagration that occurred in May of 1985.

    It’s called protecting exposures. By just letting the school burn while saving the buildings that surrounds it. Unfortunately they were not successful.

    Nice old school turnout gear! Good save of exposures with regards to how out of control everything else looked, they could have lost a city block….Maybe luck and the wind died down. GOOD video anyway! Thanks.

    @TommyRulezz123 Dude, half the video they were stopping “extension”. Remember, you are only looking at a small view of one side of a 5 sided fire.
