What basic high school courses should i take to become a good infantry man?

I am looking to be in the U.S. army as a ranger. What basic high school courses should i take to really be knowledgeable on the field.besides army JROTC.I really just want to be the best at what i do.

I’m in the AF and know some of the SF guys.

They usually stare at maps, and know how to speak a second language.

So my best bet would be for you to be good in map reading, know how to read GPS(not the ones that you have in your car or mom’s car)

Learn how to read MGRS and how to find an area on a map using MGRS.

Math and algebra would be good too, since you need to know distance by not using a measuring tape, this would be helpful when you need to inform somebody about a target that needs to be blown up.

Science and biology would be good too, since you would be out in the field and you should know the difference between a venomous snake and a worm, or plants that would be harmful to you.

Learn another language, especially the ones spoken in your AOR, or where you want to be sent on a mission.

  1. Just take what they give you. Your in high school not college. You don’t really pick your classes. Pick any extra classes you want – the mandatory math, science, english, and history classes are what you need.

  3. Just take the required classes but do your best to get A’s. The better your grades are the better chance you can pick your career.

  5. Unless you’re trying to be a part of an elite force, you can be fat, they will get you skinny, you can be dumb, they probably wont get you smart. And if you’re going to be a Ranger, they will give you what you need to know in R.I.P school, good luck, and enjoy the memories you will create.
