What classes in high school do you need to be a veterinarian or author?

I am in high school and I want to be an author. I need to know what would be the most helpful classes to take while in high school. I am signed up for animal science and Latin because I heard that it is very helpful. Any other classes I could take? What classes would I need to really really really pay attention to?? Please and thank you! I know that you need to be good at English. I don;t know much about what you need to become an author.

Veterinarian-Be very fond of science. I wanted to be a vet, and once I started college I realized that I needed to take 4 chemistry’s, 4 biologies, and 3 physics, plus some other basic classes just to get into the vet school. After realizing that only about 5 out of 100 applicants get into veterinary school a year, I changed my major because I don’t like science much. If you have a passion for writing, stick with it.

To become a veterinarian you need to take college prep courses. I would emphasize sciences courses, as you’ll need them in college. You’ll need to be accepted at a 4 year university and maintain an extremely high GPA. Getting accepted to a vet school is more competitive than being accepted to medical school. It is a four year degree in addition to your bachelor’s degree. (A total of 8 years of university).

There are no specific requirements for being an author. You’ll need to be an excellent writer with a manuscript that a publisher wants to market. Practice writing LOTS!

    Best wishes!

To be a vet take all the math and science classes you can. AP is great, too.

To be an Author there are no requirements (unless you’d like to become an expository writer), but things like languages will help.
