What if all public schools became privatized and the voters got to choose which corporation runs the schools?

Maybe Apple can choose to run some schools and McDonald’s can run another school. Parents could choose which school they wish to send their kids to near their area.

They’d accept all the “smart” kids and kids without learning disabilities or emotional disturbances, etc.

And they’d expect government handouts if we wanted them to teach ALL the kids.

I’ve worked in both public and private schools. Private was a cush job and they’re generally not equipped to provide for kids with special needs. This is why some kids on the private school vouchers end up going back to their public school.

There’s a reason we have the Dept. of Ed. All children need a shot, and the private sector isn’t much interested in serving ALL kids.

What does the National Curriculum expect a primary school child to learn in History?

Hi, I am trying to find out what a child in Primary school in England should learn in history lessons. I am specifically interested in content ie- World Wars, Tudors, etc- and are there any documents available online to support this?
Many thanks

It’s all here:

Key Stage 1: http://curriculum.qcda.gov.uk/key-stages-1-and-2/subjects/history/keystage1/index.aspx

Key Stage 2: http://curriculum.qcda.gov.uk/key-stages-1-and-2/subjects/history/keystage2/index.aspx

Don’t the short length of the documents fool you – the NC gives quite a lot of freedom to schools these days.

What qualifications will i need to be a primary school teacher?

I really want to know what qualifications ill need to be a primary school teacher because i really want to be a primary school teacher when im older, im in the top group for english and the middle group for maths and im aiming for an A in both subjects when i do my GCSE at the end of year 9 (the year im in now, so around may next year)
so is their anything else i need to be a teacher?

And pluss…How much do teachers get paid on average per year?

Primary school teachers in the UK develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. They facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with pupils and by their organization of learning resources and the classroom learning environment

In-service training is available and teachers are encouraged to pursue continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to their own responsibilities and the development needs of the school. Training takes place in-house on teacher training days or at regional training centers run by local authorities. Training covers a wide range of topics, such as curriculum issues, target setting and assessment, special needs, subject leadership, pastoral care, new initiatives and technology. Some teachers study on a part-time basis for higher qualifications related to their specialist subject. Or, they take Masters degrees in education or business administration (MBA), depending on their career aims. Professional qualifications for school managers are also available;

New entrants to the profession in England, Wales and Northern Ireland start on the main salary scale, which rises incrementally from £21,102 to £30,842. Enhanced pay scales apply for teachers working in or near London. Salaries in Northern Ireland are generally similar to those for England and Wales. In Scotland, the new entrants’ starting salary is £21,438, rising incrementally to £34,200. Pay scales are reviewed annually. Good luck.

How do you convince your parents to let you go to boarding school?

I want to go to boarding school so badly, bur my parents say your not mature enough or say something like I’m not good enough to go. But I hate my family life and school life where I live now and I really want to leave.

How do I convince my parents to let me go to boarding school?

I think you should show them that you are a responsible person who is just not running away from petty issues of school and family. And let me tell you my friend you can not fool your parents so genuinely act responsibly. If they can afford your boarding expenditures then only thing that would be bugging them would be you and your future. So I would say face it manly and if you just want to experience the boarding life then pave your way smoothly.

What is the difference between a secondary school and a grammar school?

I currently attend a secondary school in a small town North-East Scotland) where I (and most others) get to by bus. It teaches from S1 (11-13yr olds) right up to S6 (16-18yr olds). My cousin attends a grammar school (in orkney) but there isn’t a grammar school anywhere near where I live, so I do not know anything about them or whether they are just the same.

Grammar schools in Scotland are not the same as in England. It’s only the name which differentiates them from other schools; they can be state or private schools.

How do you become an elementary school teacher after college?

Right now my major is computer science. I may switch to IT, but I’m not sure yet. My parents want me to major in this, so how can I wind up teaching in elementary school with this degree? Is there any way?

Besides having specialized training in computer technology, you must have an education degree so that you have teaching certification. This means that you have to student teach.

In my district, we have a computer facilitator (teacher) in each of our nine buildinga who are in charge of the computer labs in their buildings. The ones in elementary, teach each class that come sto the lab at their assigned time. They teach computer skills, manage the labs, and handle building level computer problems. I think that the secondary ones are more of a resource. We also have a head IT who works at Central Office, but I have never seen him. I think he only hangs out in the main computer area. He and his three assistants are in charge of all district technology and are the only ones who can enter district level data in the system, and can remotely open any district computer harddrive in the district, including the superintendents. However, none of them have teaching degrees and none can teach students.

What the difference between public high school and private high school in south korea?

I heard that in korea, public school more stressed than private school. Is it true? I’m getting more curious about Korean education system. Please help :D

Basically the only difference is most high schools are public and private schools consist mostly of International schools, that are for foreigners or students that want to study English. Also Private schools have their own rules different from public schools.

What are some ways that elementary and middle school are alike?

I’m writing a paper at school and you have to compare and contrast elementary school and middle school. I can think alot of ways on how they are different but what are some ways that they are the same?

middle school gives you more responsibilities as to elementary not so much. you start to learn more about yourself in middle school with new friends and with 6 classes you have now then to the one class in elementary. you learn basically the same things just the next step of advancement its still a normal school just like high school with strict rules you have to follow the school basically guides you to maturity
