What can we do to improve education primarily in public schools?
America spends some of the highest amount of dollars per student yet we aren’t near the standards of other developed countries that invest less. In terms of education we have some of the lower end of scores in priomary and secondary schools, yet somehow have some of the highest testing and facilities at the university levels. What can we do to help public schools? Is it the money? Zoning? Vouchers? Teacher’s Unions? Maybe something else?
it is not really money. it is parent involvement. unfortunately, in this day & age in America, we are so involved in making tons of money, there is a high cost of living in many areas, there are pressures to have all kinds of material things, that we waste our resources on the trivial. We are so busy working to get those things, or for some people, just to make ends meet, that we lose touch with what’s important.
The parents are most times not involved enough in their children’s lives to make the education they could have more valuable.
I am so grateful that the public school my daughter goes to has a high rate of parent involvement. it makes all the difference, not only in the school, but in how the child views school as well.
Parents and students.

It’s not the teacher’s fault, it’s the will of the kids to learn and the general feeling about education that leads to such a position. Being raised in a different country, it’s pretty evident that Americans don’t think much of education. In other countries you see school as your daily duty, in the US, it seems kids see it as only a part of the day and look forward to just getting it over with.
