Student Gets Arrested At Northern Secondary School For No Reason
Aa friend of mine gets harrassed by the cops at my school, Northern Secondary School in Toronto. You can see that the WHOLE school was there. And when we were at da hallway, you can hear da people shouting ‘read him his rights’, ‘he didnt do shit’, ‘fucken paki cop!’ etc. And da cop wouldnt even say y he was arrestin my nigga. WTF is dis. plus, dat cop is at our school every day, hes assigned to our school, n man, dat guy is gon get his harrassed off. plus, after he went to da office, da vice principal took me in n my friend who u seen i was askin wat happened almost at da end of da vid. dey put us in separate rooms n pretty much interrogated us. n while we’re in our rooms, we’re my nigga scream his fucken off. i actually got a bit scared for my nigga. it was a MAD scream, like, send u chills kind of shit. plus, when me n my friend went into da office, da vice principal took my phone, and dis is happenin on friday, october 2, 2009 and im doing this da same day as da incident, so da vice principals keepin my phone over da weekend. but still, i recorded dis on my memory card n i got it out wit out her seein for everyone to see how these cops are up. man, plus, when me n my friend got in da office, i see like 12 cops run into da room wit da paki cop n my nigga, and undercover cops, n dis is b4 da screamin, so they were doin some in that room to him. n when i went out of my room after the screamin, i got some cop comin at me n throwin me back in my room, grabbin me n shit., like, wtf is dis. n lata, i got out of da office, n i went outside, n i see like 5, 6 cop cars out there, wit cops outside tellin everyone to get off the property. n dis is up, dis is all cuz of my nigga, one man. n i get a cop comin to be like ’sorry, u gotta get off da property’ so im just like aight, but i just stayed on da pavement, like not even, i jus nodded my head, he left, i chilled. n den im just like, nahh, u cant do dat to my man. so i go back in, n i see my nigga in da middle of like 10 cops bein escorted out, n i got dis eye contact wit him, n i could juss see da man was cheesed, n i swear his face was gettin bruised n shit, n i juss give him a nod, cuz he know i got his back, i got dis shit. so im wakkin like two feet ahead of them back out da school n everyone comes back to da crowd, where hes at, n we got cops surroundin him n takin him to da car, n it was so up. n its rainin at da same time n im gettin mad chills. n im hearin these cops goin to students like ‘get off the property or ill arrest for trespassin’ n da students are just like ‘trespassin? dis is fucken public property’ den da cops like ‘yo, dis is da toronto district school boards property’ and da mans like ‘I GOT TO DIS FUCKEN SCHOOL FOOL’ n juss walks away, man, i was laughin. n across da street, i see some cop grab a kid, separate him from da crowd n just starts shoutin n cussin at da kid. n it was juss goin everywhere. n man, dis is all for my nigga, all for my nigga. FREE MY NIGGA, FREE MY NIGGA, FREE MY NIGGA!

This is exactly the problem. Arresting someone without a) informing them of what they done and b) without merit, is something that should be protested against. You can passively accept this but it’s not going to mend the divide between administration and students. This is going to keep happening.

No they are not …
No they are not evil beings, but they are noted for undue brutality, especially towards teenagers. “Shit like this” wouldn’t happen if we DIDNT have cops in our school. We don’t need a cops, the students know that and vocalized that LAST YEAR, and the adminstration SHOULD know that. However many changes this year would indicated the administration doesn’t know/care the opinion of the students. That’s why struggling IS necessary. Absolutely ridiculous. In the face of completely unnecessary measures (we protested this cop issue last year, and were assured we were not getting one) the only answer is to voice our collective dissatisfaction. Life isn’t, and shouldn’t be like this, and if you believe so you are sadly naive. Simply put, sans cop, sans incident. To think he is a necessary prescence in our school is absolute bs. “Stop whining”? This is a complete breach our of rights as students. What a mindless comment.

i just graduated from nothern, and i am for sure happy i no longer go there….
but, this kid is resisting arrest, it should not take 2 minutes to detain someone. on the other hand, this cop is obviously a rookie

If you want to do …
If you want to do something about this, there is a group called NOCOPS (Neighborhood organized coalition opposed to police in schools) working around the issue of police in schools, or what they are called SROs.
Get back at me I’m organizing with them and theres nuff mans from across different toronto schools on NOCOPS working to get the cop out the school. We can work together and start working to get the cop from northern out…we managed to do it at one school so far.
